The Offgridtec® MPPT Pro Duo 30A solar charge controller

The MPPT Pro duo controller can process a maximum charging current of 30A. This means that this system is theoretically expandable to nearly 400W of solar module power – however, considering the module selection (expansion only with identical panels), an expansion by a maximum of 1 module would probably make the most sense for this system. In addition, the device has a secondary charge output via which the starter battery can be charged in parallel with the on-board battery during longer periods of standstill – a feature which is certainly very much appreciated in the mobile home. To ensure optimum efficiency, the appliance also has an AES switching output – this enables refrigerators with “AES” to switch automatically from gas to 12V operation when there is excess solar power.

The professional solar mounting system

Spoile profiles are the first choice for caravans and motorhomes in particular when it comes to neatly mounting solar modules. If you mount the modules in the direction of travel, wind noise is no longer an issue (this also applies to alcove vehicles). The closed design of the spoilers also prevents branches or similar from getting caught under the solar modules. Spoiler dimensions: L x W x H: 55cm x 8.9cm (of which approx. 3cm support surface module per spoiler) x 6.5cm.

The bonding

Correctly executed bonding is superior to any screw connection in tough motorhome or boat applications. A strength of more than 4 N/mm2 can be achieved on painted or GFRP surfaces, which would be a value calculated on the adhesive surface that could never be achieved with a screw connection in the thin aluminum or GFRP substrate layer. This glue set allows even a layman to create an absolutely firm connection between spoilers and the respective substrate. The Dekalin adhesive set contains all the components necessary for even the do-it-yourself installer to make a professional connection. Stainless steel screws for fastening the solar modules are included, as are detailed bonding instructions. In addition, all you need is a standard hand lever press for cartridges and a lint-free cloth.

The ABS mounting profiles

Cable feed-throughs from the roof into the interior are always quite tricky, as it must be ensured that everything is absolutely tight and remains tight even after years. After all, even the slightest water ingress can lead to often irreparable damage to the interior insulation and furnishings. Especially since the moisture is often noticed quite late. For this reason, the roof bushings were developed: The housings are made of the same UV and weather resistant material as the mounting brackets offered in the online store. They are extremely stable and absolutely sure-footed. The wide adhesive edge ensures an optimal seal. The feedthroughs are glued with the adhesive set that you also use to glue on the solar mounting brackets. The housings can also be painted in any color to match the surface on which they are to be mounted

The professional cabling set

All necessary cables are supplied plug & play and are already pre-crimped with specialist tools. So you don’t need to buy special pliers for the MC-4 connectors.
